Fork Union boys (SE #5) and Lake Braddock girls (SE #8) make their first appearances in the rankings. The Midlothian boys maintain their #1 position in the region, while Brentsville at #2 and Thomas Jefferson at #4 edge closer. West Springfield drops one spot to #8, while Midlothian girls move up one to #2. Brentsville girls maintain at #5.

The Nike Team National regional rankings are the basis of the NTN team selection process. The top two teams in each region at the end of the season will be invited to compete in the Nike Team Nationals in Portland Dec. 2. The third and fourth place teams in each region are considered for the four national at-large selections.
