In the first two years of the existence of Nike Team Nationals, the state of Virginia failed to send one team representative to Portland, Oregon to compete against the 20 best high school cross country teams in the country. However, the 2006 Nike Team Nationals will feature both a boys and girls team from one school in Virginia. The Midlothian boys and girls, coached by Stan Morgan, will be representing the state of Virginia and Southeast region in Saturday\'s national championship races at Portland Meadows. The Midlothian girls arrive in Oregon as the #2 ranked team in the country and are considered by many as the favorites to win at NTN. Meanwhile, the Southeast #1 ranked Midlothian boys are projected to finish in the top 15 at least, but would like to exceed expectations and become the first Southeast boys team to crack into the top ten in the meet\'s three year history.
