Julian Body Named Gatorade POY for State of Oregon

Julian Body has been named the Gatorade Boys Track and Field Player of the Year for the state of Oregon. The Jesuit High Junior had a phenomenal year in all hurdle events, finishing in the top 50 for the 300 hurdles and U.S. No. 4 on the year in the 400 hurdles.

In the 110 hurdles, Body captured the Oregon 6A state title as well as the victory at the Oregon State Track and Field Championships. He also took first at the Golden West Invitational. Julian also set a new PR in the event this year, running 14.21 to finish second at the Pasco Invitational in April.

In the 300 hurdles, Body was dominant in the event as he went undefeated all year over the distance. He took victories at the Oregon 6A State Championships, Oregon State Track and Field Championships where he ran a PR of 37.44, and the Golden West Invitational.

This year Body also competed in the 400 hurdles for the first time. Julian ran the 400 hurdles at the USATF Jr. National Championships at Hayward Field. There he took third, running the U.S. No. 4 time of 51.98. There he earned his spot to represent the U.S. at the Pan Am Games in Toronto.
