National Weekend Rundown: ALL NXN/Foot Locker Regionals!

Foot Locker Midwest (WI)

Taylor Werner Over Pendergast, Davis Over Veatch - Again!

Taylor Werner Is Second Girl Ever Under 17 Minutes

Missouri's Taylor Werner knocked off Naperville North's Judy Pendergast in a minor upset to win the Foot Locker Midwest championships on the brutally hilly course in Parkside, Wisconsin. Her 16:57 5K time makes her the second girl ever to break seventeen minutes on the course after Anna Rohrer did so last year. Here are the top ten finishers:

Of note: runner-up Pendergast, fifth-place Sarah Leinheiser of Carmel (IN), and tenth place Stephanie Jenks of Linn-Mar (IA) all previously qualified for the NXN finals and now have the option to run NXN in Portland on December 5th and the Foot Locker finals in San Diego a week later.

Jon Davis Knows How To Kick

Jon Davis of Oakwood, Ill. won the boys title as he and Paul Roberts and Ben Veatch crossed the line in a dead heat in 14:57. The win here comes just one week after Davis showcased a similar kick over Veatch to win the NXN Midwest Regional and singles the Illinois state champion out as a potential threat to the crown in coming weeks. He will attend both NXN and Foot Locker Nationals.
