The Loudoun Valley (PA) High School boys are back, duh!
While senior Sam Affolder was out taking the ACT, his fellow senior teammate, Jacob Hunter, picked up a very impressive win on a tough course in Pennsylvania, running 15:44.10 for 5K at Kutztown University to win PTXC10. Junior teammate Carlos Shultz was right behind him in 15:48.20.
The Vikings, meanwhile, scored 25 points and had its fifth in by the 12th position, beating second-place Mendham by over 100 points. Loudoun Valley actually had its first eight runners in by the 25th finish and had all eight under 16:40. Juniors Kevin Carlson (15:56.90) and Kellen Hasle (16:04.80) were third and fourth for the team, respectively. Transfer Mateo Barreto was the team's fifth, finishing 12th overall in 16:16.40.
No doubt just as impressive as 2017's result, Loudoun Valley showed why its still the team to beat in 2017.

Meanwhile, in the girls race Greencastle-Antrim's Taryn Parks earned the win in 18:08.20, scoring a victory by nearly 40 seconds over the next fastest girl.
Parks, a two-time Foot Locker Nationals qualifier, is off to a stellar start.
Her time at PTXC10 was 45 seconds faster than a similar showing at the Rebel Invitational on this weekend a year ago and was just three seconds off her career PR of 18:05.40, which she accomplished at the Foot Locker Northeast regional as a freshman in 2016.
