The Woodlands continues to dominate with a large points lead over the others in the region.  No other changes were added to their roster this week.

 

Clinton MS is #2 in the South region with a US#44 ranking. 



Midwest Girls

Lee's Summit MO - 7591.48 points 


Lee's Summit MO continues to hold onto MW#1 and improved to US#10 with Lauren Cheadle going 11.84 for 967.39 points. 

 


York IL is 2nd in the Midwest with a US ranking of 35 and a score of 7110.95 points.

This region continues to be deep with but the places changed a bit

Southern Regional, NJ rolled to the top this week with a US#15 ranking and 7458.04 points. Hopewell Valley, NJ sits in 2nd with a US#19 ranking and 7407.80 points.

Sean McPherson garnered some big points with a 10.83 100 dash and a 23-8.5 LJ for a total of 1864.15 points.

Malvern Prep, PA moved up to a US#27 ranking with 7485.86 points. 

 

 

 

Southwest Girls

 

 

Chandler High School:

Last week:  US#2  SW#1  AZ#1     7909.67 pts.                  

                        

 

Chandler High School in Arizona moved to within 120 points of US#1 Long Beach Poly after the Arizona regional meets last week.   Sophomore Jasmine Todd put up some big marks again leaping to a 19-9 long jump for 990 points and running an 11.97 100 meter dash for 939 points.  Alexis Clay ran a 14.92 in the finals of the 100 meter hurdles for 882 points and freshman Mia Townsend ran a 2:20.35 in the 800 meter run for 815 points.  Arizona heads into the State Meet Championships this week.

 

 

 

Desert Vista High School:

 

This week: US#5  SW#2  AZ#2      7763.39 pts                      

Last week: US#5  SW#2  AZ#2      7676.73 pts                  

 

Desert Vista remains in the same spot in all three areas but moved up 90 points this week to within one point of 4th place Trabuco Hills out of California.  Shaylah Simpson has company in the pole vault as teammate Heather Arseneau jumped 13-0 feet on Friday.  Junior Julia Kline ran a 15.28 at the regional meet last week earning 842 points.  Junior Sydnee Freeman improved on her 100 meter time running 12.59 for 804 points and her 400 meter time running 58.21 for 825 points.

 

 
 

Northwest Girls

 

 

Kentwood, WA

Last week: US#23  NW#1  WA#1     7267.44 pts                    

 

Kentwood, WA still leads the northwest but moved down to US#29.  Kentwood moved up 20 points to 7267.44.

 

 

 

Kent Meridian, WA

 

This week: US#47  NW#2  WA#2     6848.80 pts                        

Last week: US#41  NW#2  WA#2     6848.80 pts

 

 

Kent Meridian, WA stayed in the #2 spot in the region and state but moved down to US#47.  There is no change in the team points this week. 

 

 

 

 

Heartland Girls

 

 

Southwest, NE

Southwest out of Lincoln, Nebraska stays at #1 in the region but moved down 2 spots nationally to US#13.  There is no change in the team points this week. 

 

 

 

Iowa City, Iowa

 

This week:  US#19  HL#2  IA#1     7456.14 pts                  

Last week:  US#17  HL#2  IA#1     7456.14 pts                    

 

Iowa City West from Iowa City is still holding on to #2 in the region and moved down in the national rankings to US#19.   There is no change in the team points this week. 

 

 

 

California Girls


Four California teams still land in the top ten nationally.

 

 

Long Beach Poly

 

This week:   US#1  CA#1     8249.51 pts                                        

Last week:   US#1  CA#1     8218.59 pts                                              

Long Beach Poly (Polytechnic) still remains US#1 with a 30 point increase in their team score to 8249.51 points……..however,  Chandler High School out of Arizona is knocking on the door.  Traci Hicks helped give the team a boost this week with an 18-1.25 long jump for 877 points.

  

 

 

Trabuco Hills

 

This week:  US#4  CA#2      7763.39 pts                                          

Last week:  US#4  CA#2      7695.70 pts                                        

Trabuco Hills out of Mission Viejo, CA stayed at US#4 and improved their score by almost 70 points giving them a very slight 1/2 point edge over Arizona’s Desert Vista.  Kamilah Foley helped earn 909 points for the team with a 2:13.91 800 meter run.   Brierra Winfrey also improved her 400 meter dash running 57.07 for 868 points.

 

  

 

Harvard Westlake

 

This week: US# 6   CA#3       7717.90 pts                                       

Last week: US#10  CA#4       7552.11 pts                                       

 

Harvard Westlake from North Holywood,CA had a great week and moved into third place in California ahead of previously US#8 ranked Vista Murrieta. Helping the team earn an addition 170 points were Zaakirah Daniels and Amy Weissenbach.  Daniels improved on her 100 meter hurdles (14.59) and Weissenbach improved on both her 800 meter run (2:16.95) and her 1600 meter run (4:58.63).

 

 

 

Vista Murrieta

 

This week:  US#9  CA#3      7615.70 pts                                     

Last week:  US#8  CA#3      7557.36 pts                                        

Although Vista Murrieta earned 58 additional points this week they still moved down one place to US#9.  Lynn Patu improved her discus throw by 5 feet to earn 883 points for the team.

Brophy College Prep

 

This week:  US#11   SW#1  AZ#1     7789.04  pts.

Last week:  US#14   SW#1  AZ#1     7617.06  pts.

 

Brophy College Prep  out of Phoenix, Arizona moved 3 places to US#11  by adding 170 points to their team score.  Devon Allen’s 10.84 time in the 100 dash gave the team 897 points.  Harry Danilevics moved into the 400 meter dash spot with a time of 49.65 and 839 points.  Also helping the team is Tommy Willliams with a 1:56.15 time in the 800 meter run.

 

 

 

Desert Vista

 

This week:  US#13  SW#2  AZ#2     7739.84  pts                                 

Last week:  US#16  SW#2  AZ#2     7581.43  pts       

             

Desert Vista, Phoenix,  Arizona  also had a big jump in the rankings moving up 3 spots to US#13.   Anders Battle ran a 10.79 in the 100 dash for 909 points and won the long jump at the regional championships with a jump of 23-4.25 for 943 points.  Matt Smith also earned 873 points for his 14.75 time in the 110 meter hurdles. Desert Vista is 50 points behind Brophy Prep heading into the Arizona State Meet this week.

Sam Barlow out of Gresham, Oregon had no change in the team points this week but moved down to US#14.

This week:  US#46   NW#2   WA#1    7279.11 pts                        

Last week:  US#42   NW#2   WA#1    7250.39 pts                        

 

Kentwood out of Covington, Washington remained at #2 in the region but dropped down to US#46 even with a 30 point jump to 7279.11 points.   Kevin Bateman earned 891 points with a high jump of 6-7.

 

 

 

 

Heartland Boys

 

 

Bismarck

 

This week:  US#25  HL#1  ND#1    7518.58 pts                      

Last week:  US#29  HL#2  ND#1    7391.81 pts                      

 

Bismarck in North Dakota jumped 128 points to move back into the #1 spot in the region bumping Southwest down to #2.  Bismarck also moved 4 places to US#25   Last Saturday at the North Dakota relays, senior Brandon Barnes ran an impressive US#7 800 time of 1:51.21 for 986 points.

Southwest out of Lincoln, NE  had no change in the team points this week but moved down to US#36.   

 

 

 

 

California Boys

 

California once again has 4 teams in the top 10.

 

 

Vista Murrieta

 

This week:  US#1  CA#1     7926.09  pts                                            

Last week:  US#3  CA#1     7862.66  pts 

 

                                           

Vista Murrieta reclaimed the US#1 spot this week adding 70 points to the team total.   Jovante Slater ran a 10.64 at the Southwest League Championships last week earning 945 points.  Emil Mejares also scored big at the Southwest League meet earning 871 points for his 160-5.75 discus throw.  Bernard Quinn earned 916 points for his 48.17 time in the 400 meter dash.  Vista Murrieta is just 37 points ahead of US#2 Brookwood out of Snellville Georgia.

 

 

 

 

Dana Hills

Last week:  US#6  CA#2     7759.27  pts                                                                                                                          

Dana Hills added 80 points to their team total moving up 1 place to US#5.   Last week at the South Coast League Championships, Jesus Molina ran a 1:54.49 in the 800 for 900 points.  At the same meet Devin Harrison ran a 400 dash time of 48.87 for 879 points. 

 

 

Also making the US top 10.

 

 

Long Beach Poly

 

This week:  US#9  CA #3    7811.36 pts

 

This week Long Beach Poly moved back into the top 10 with help from point leader Kaelin Clay.  Clay ran a 10:48 at the Moore League Prelims last week for 983 points.   Myles Andrews also ran at the Moore League meet and earned 856 points for a 4:19.86 1600 meter run as did Blake Gray with a 21-5.75 long jump for 835 points.

 

 

 

San Ramon Valley

 

This week:  US#10   CA #4    7808.91 pts

 

Making their way into the top ten for the first time is San Ramon Valley out of Danville.  Kevin Griffith leads the team with 963 points for a 1:52.07 800 meter run and 899 points for a 4:15.93 1600 meter run.   San Ramon Valley is less than 3 points behind Long Beach Poly.
