Brittney Jackson went 2:10.10 in the 800 for 965.59 points and 5-4.75 in the high jump for 870 points.  Kayann Richards went 14.41 in the 100H for 938.89 points.

Chandler moved to within 50 points of US#1 Long Beach Poly after the Arizona State Meet last week.   Sophomore Jasmine Todd once again improved on her 19-9 long jump from regionals to jump 19-11 for a State Title and a US#5 mark.   Mia Townsend ran a great 800 time of 2:18.47 to give the team some additional points as did junior Hannah Carson who put up her best marks this season with a 44-7.75 in the shot put and a 140-1.75 in the discus winning two Arizona State Titles.  Alexis Clay also improved again on her 100 hurdle time with a 14.61.  

 

 

 

 

Desert Vista High School:

 

This week: US#4  SW#2  AZ#2      7814.27 pts                      

Last week: US#7  SW#2  AZ#2      7811.27 pts                  

 

Desert Vista remains at #2 in the state and the region but moved down to US#7.  Great performances at the Arizona State Meet by Sydee Freeman, Yasmine Yacut and Julia Kline helped the team to a fourth place ranking.  Freeman took 4th in the 400 meter dash with a 57.73 and Kline placed 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles with a 15.13.  Yacut ran a 2:16.22 in the 800 for the Arizona State Title. At the Meet of Champions last weekend Shayla Simpson jumped a 13-3.75 for a US#3 mark, breaking her own Arizona State Record of 13-2.25.

 

 

 
 

Northwest Girls

 

Three teams in Washington lead the NW with Kentwood still at the top spot and Kent Meridian moving down to third making way for Imglemoor in 2nd.

 

 

Kentwood, WA

 

This week: US#27  NW#1  WA#1     7407.35 pts                        

Last week: US#25  NW#1  WA#1     7365.03 pts                    

 

Kentwood, WA still leads the northwest moving to US#27 earning almost 100 points at the SPSL Sub District Meet Megan McNally ran a season best of 2:20.03 in the 800 and Aiesha Goodlow ran a 15.80 in the 100 meter hurdles and also jumped 17-5.75 in the long jump.  Carly Horn had a 3rd place finish and a season best in the high jump with a 4-11.75  McNally went on to run a 2:19.04 in the 800 meter run last week at the West Central District meet.  Dana Wareham received her best 400 meter time of 58.97 at the same district meet as did Aiesha Goodlow who ran 15.80 in the 100 meter hurdles.

 

 

Inglemoor, WA

 

This week: US#36  NW#2  WA#2     7258.35 pts                        

Last week: US#34  NW#2  WA#2     7240.17 pts

 

 

Inglemoor, WA sits 150 points behind Kentwood with 7258.35 points.  Two weeks ago at the 4A King Co. Championships many season best marks were produced.  McKenna Grimsby earned a 12.56 at the 100 dash and Sara Nash earned a 59.36 in the 400 meter dash.  Lacey London earned  862.08 points for a 2:17.17 time in the 800 meter run.  Becca Berge leads the team with the highest points for her 14.76 100 meter hurdles.  Jen Derke earned her season best marks at the King Co Championships with a 31-8.25 shot put and Maura Fenelon PR’d in the discus with a throw of 92-7.   Last week at the District 2-4 Championships Tess Parent jumped 18-5.25 in the long jump.

Southwest out of Lincoln, Nebraska stays at #1 in the region and moves up 3 spots nationally to US#12.  Kayla Frazier earned her best mark of 46-1 in the shot put at the Nebraska State Meet last week.  Sabra Baustert also earned some points at the State Meet by jumping 10-0 in the pole vault. 

 

 

 

 

Iowa City, Iowa

Last week:  US#19  HL#2  IA#1     7414.56 pts                    

 

Iowa City West from Iowa City is still holding on to #2 in the region but moved down to US#22 in the National Rankings.   Jessica Gehrke had her best performances at the Iowa State Meet last weekend starting with a time of 12.22 in the 100 meter dash.

 

 

 

 

California Girls


California is in the middle of sectionals this week with the CA state meet a few weeks away.

 

 

Long Beach Poly

Long Beach Poly (Polytechnic) still remains at US#1 with a 27 point increase in their team score to 8325.27 points.  At the CIF SS Masters this weekend Carisma Lyday ran a time of 11.76 in the 100 meter dash and Akawkaw Ndipagbor ran a 53.64 in the 400 meter dash.  Dynasty Gammage. ran a season best time of 2:10.80 in the 800 meter run at the CIF SS Finals last weekend.  Traci Hicks also put up a season best mark at the CIF SS Finals with a jump of 18-5.5 in the long jump.

 

 

 

Harvard Westlake

Last week: US#7    CA#3       7717.90 pts                                       

 

Harvard Westlake from North Holywood,CA  jumped up 4 places to US#3 earning 172 points in the last week.  Lauren Hansson ran a 56.34 in the 400 meter dash at the CIF finals last week and Amy Weissenback won the 1600 meter run with a 4:57.29. Hilary King jumped 17-7.25 in the long jump for a season PR and Sydney Haydel had a season best in the shot put with a 39-7.75.  Weissenbach also won the 800 meter run at the CIF SS Masters meet with a 2:08.34 for a US#3.

Clovis West from Fresno CA moved into the top ten for the first time with 7836.02 points.  Many athletes received their best marks at the CIF CE Master’s meet over the weekend.  Paris Turner ran a 58.99 in the 400 meter dash and Katie Kass ran a season best 5:09.32 in the 1600 meter run.  Alyssa Monteverde ran a 14.11 in the 100 meter hurdles while Anginae Monteverde jumped 11-8.75 in the pole vault and 17-1.5 in the long jump.  Chukwunonso (N Okwelogu had a season best throw in the discus of 139-6.

Trabuco Hills out of Mission Viejo, CA moved down to US#9 after being bumped by Harvard Westlake.  Percylla Nared helped earn points for the team by running an 11.99 at the CIF Divison 1 prelims last week. Makenna Smith also earned points at the CIF Divison 1 Finals with a 4:58.62 time in the 1600 meter run. 

 

 

 

 

Southwest Boys

 

 

The Southwest had some major changes the last two weeks with regionals and the Arizona State Meet.  Mesa Mountain View moved into the top 10 last week bumping Brophy College Prep and Desert Vista down a spot in the region.

 

Mountain View (Mesa)

 

This week:  US#8   SW#1  AZ#1     7900.24  pts.

This week:  US#4   SW#1  AZ#1     7900.24  pts.

 

The day after our last update Mesa Mountain View moved into the US#8 spot then down to US#9 on Friday but last week the team produced some great marks at the Arizona State meet to settle in at US#4.  At the Regional Meet Preston Richardson ran a 10.87 in the 100 meter dash while Spencer Frame ran a 1:54.68 in the 800.  Michael Kiene also put up a great Regional time of 14.87 in the 110 hurdles.  At the State Meet Justin Neuman ran a 49.09 in the 400 and Jake Jarvis had a season best pole vault of 15-3.  Gerry Langford also had a State Meet PR in the discus with a throw of 146-3.75.  Zach Collin’s shot put of 50-1 came at the Chandler Rotary in March and Braylen Uchtil leads the team with 928 points for his 6-9 high jump.  This last week there were no changes in the team score but the team moved down to US#8.

Brophy College Prep  out of Phoenix, Arizona moved up another 3 places to US#8  by adding 65 more points to their team score.  Helping the team earn points this week are Alex Bishop and James Harper.  At the Arizona State Meet, Bishop jumped a PR of 16-4.75 in the pole vault for 993 points.  Also at the state meet Harper jumped 6-3.75 in the high jump. Tommy Williams ran a 4:21.10 in the 1600 meter run but his score has not yet been updated.

Last week at the Meet of Champions, Tommy Williams ran a 1:54.65 in the 800 meter run to help boost the team score.

Sam Barlow out of Gresham, Oregon earned an additional 84 points this week but remained at US#17.   At the Oregon State Championships Arthur Delaney ran a 10.42 in the 100 meter dash and jumped 22-10.25 in the long jump.  Tanner Dillon ran a 15.68 in the 110 hurdles and Nathanael Franks jumped 6-7 in the high jump.

 

 

North Medford

 

This week:  US#40   NW#2   OR#2    7503.12 pts

North Medford, OR moved up the regional leader board to #2 with 7503.12 points.   Drew Jordan ran a 3:48.72 in the 1500 meter run at the Oregon State Meet last weekend and Jonathan McUne ran 14.86 in the 110 hurdles. 

 

 

 

 

Heartland Boys

Bismarck, North Dakota moved up two places this week to US#23 and jumped 130 points. Channing Mann ran 11.05 in the 100 meter dash at the West Regionals last weekend and Jake Miller ran a 49.12 in the 400 meter.  Jared Connell also ran a season best in the 110 hurdles with a 15.73.  Brandon Barnes ran a 4:18.33 time in the 1600 meter run this weekend at the ND State Meet and Alex Neumiller jumped 23-0.25 in the long jump.  Mitch Bailey also did well in the State Meet throwing the discus 155-4 feet.

 

Pleasant Valley, IA

Pleasant Valley, IA moved into the #2 spot in the region with 7442.77 points.   At the Iowa State Meet John Sokolik ran a 50.99 in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.99 and Andrew Swanson ran a 1:55.83 in the 800 meter run.

Southwest out of Lincoln, NE  had no change in the team points this week and moved down to US#51.   

 

 

 

 

California Boys

With CIF Sections going on and the State Meet in two weeks, look to see some changes happening in Califonria.

Vista Murrieta moved down to US#2 with 8033.75 points.  Their regional ranking has them 87 points over 2nd place Loyola.  At the CIF Division 1 Prelims, Jovante Slater ran a 10.54 in the 100 dash and and Nick Taylor jumped 6-5.75 for a season best.   Chris Navarro ran a 14.44 110 meter hurdles at the CIF SS Finals and Bernard Quinn ran 47.96 in the 400 meter dash. Also at the CIF Finals,  Emil Mejares threw the discus 168-4.75.

 

Loyola

 

This week:  US#5  CA #2    7970.62 pts

This week Loyola moved into the top ten for the first time taking the US#6 spot and bumping Long Beach Poly down to US#7.   Lee Hightower jumped 22-10 in the long jump at the CIF SS Finals last week.  Elias Gedyon ran a season PR in two events at the CIF SS Masters meet this weekend.  Gedyon ran a 4:13.15 in the 1600 meter run and an 8:56.37 in the 3200 meter run.  Uka Amah jumped 6-3.75 in the high jump at the CIF SS Div. 2 Prelims and again at the CIF SS Masters Championships this weekend.

 

 

Long Beach Poly

This week:  US#6  CA #2    7865.43 pts

This week Long Beach Poly moved down to US#7 after being bumped by Loyola.   Shaquille Howard earned extra points for the team with his 48.34 time in the 400 meter run at the CIF SS Finals.   Myles Andrews ran a blistering 1:51.89  at the CIF SS Finals in the 800 meter run.
