MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The University of Portland men’s and women’s cross country teams ran away with team titles at the 2008 Western Oregon Summer’s End Invitational on Friday. Freshman Alfred Kipchumba set a new course record in the men’s 8K event to win the individual title, while freshman Lyndy Davis placed second to pace the Pilot women.

The Linfield men’s and women’s cross country teams got the 2008 campaign off to solid start Saturday at the Summer’s End Invitational, hosted by Western Oregon University. The men’s team finished fourth with the women finishing fifth.

PORTLAND, Ore.--Concordia distance runners Charles Cummings and Linsie Michels earned Cascade Collegiete Conference Runner of the Week honors after performances at the Western Oregon Invite last Friday.
