Hamric, a Bruceton Mills, W.Va., native, earned her first honor of the season with a sixth-place finish, crossing the line with a time of 4:17.78. “Karly Hamric has now become the highest placed 1,500-meter finisher in WVU’s history,” coach Sean Cleary says. “What a year: BIG EAST Champion and now she leaves Eugene as the third-best American Collegiate mile runner. It’s simply outstanding.” Bland, earned her fourth honor of the season by virtue of finishing as one of the top U.S. citizens. No. 1 Texas A&M is in position to repeat its dual national championship after scoring 46 points, 24 for men and 22 for women, on the third day of the NCAA Championships at Hayward Field in Oregon.

As the sun was shining bright in Eugene, Ore., Christine Whalen earned All-America status today as she finished fifth in the women's 800-meter run at the 2010 NCAA Track & Field Championships.

Today was a pretty chilly day. After breakfast at the hotel, we went to the track for a short workout. Natalie looks a million bucks better today, a lot smoother and explosive today. I think she got the flight out of her system. After working out we walked back to the hotel before heading to Wal-Mart and lunch.

Texas A&M men in lead by one point after first day of NCAA Championships with 14 points. The Aggies advanced well in the sprints sending both 4x1 relays and seven sprinters to the finals of 100 and 400.

EUGENE, Ore. - Seton Hall senior Jernail Hayes Hayes will compete in the finals on Friday at approximately 8:15 p.m. The Seton Hall men's and women's 4x400-meter relay teams will both compete in the semifinals tomorrow. The men run at approximately 9:45 p.m., while the women are slated for 10:15 p.m. The relay finals are scheduled for Saturday.

The first day of the NCAA Track and Field Championships came to a close and the Houston women's 4x100 relay team qualified for the finals in the event by recording a new Houston record. The competition was slowed by low temperatures and sporadic rain throughout the afternoon. The competition will continue tomorrow at 5 p.m. and last through Saturday.

Emily Pendleton finished 10th, while Erin Pendleton placed 12th in the discus as the only two Wolverines at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Freshman Tynita Butts added to her list of honors in 2010 Wednesday, picking up All-America status in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field.
