Oregon track & field rundown: Jordan Hasay will complete her college career at Hayward Field, and that is how it should be

Jordan Hasay acknowledges the Hayward crowd in in 2012.

It's funny how things work out sometimes.

After heat and dehydration blindsided her Thursday in the NCAA West Regional and Oregon's Jordan Hasay failed to qualify in the 10,000 meters, she came back with a vengeance in Saturday's 5,000.

In this video, she talks to Flotrack

that earned her the chance to close her college career in front of the home crowd at Hayward Field in the NCAA Championships.

The meet is June 5-8, and Hasay will help wrap up competition on Friday, June 7 in the 5,000 final. Here is

for the meet.

The 5k race will set up the meet's concluding day as the Ducks attempt to win their first national, outdoor track & field title since 1985, and complete the first women's triple crown in NCAA Division I history. The triple crown, of course, consists of NCAA titles in cross country, indoor and outdoor track in the same academic year.

The Ducks are two-thirds of the way there. Hasay was a major factor in both the cross country and indoor championships.

After a highly-decorated career in Eugene, it would have been a shame if Hasay had not had the opportunity to be a big part of this.

Now she will.
