Glacier High School junior Annie Hill defended her NXN Northwest Region title against a loaded field of seven nationally ranked individuals. The No. 15 ranked Hill ran a PR of 17:22.2 for the win after being pushed by Idaho state champion Lexy Halladay (2nd, 17:26) and Oregon state champion Ember Stratton (third, 17:29). The other auto qualifiers to NXN were Wyoming state champion Anna Gibson (4th, 17:34.9) and Montana state champion Tiahna Vladic (5th, 17:40.8), who has battled back-and-forth with Hill all year.

No. 15 ranked Bozeman held up as the top team entrant, while No. 19 ranked Summit slid in to the No. 2 spot ahead of No. 16 Jesuit and No. 18 Sunset.
