#7 Kelsey Chmiel, #20 Katelyn Tuohy over #6 Jess Lawson

Kelsey Chmiel proved that she is the best harrier in the state of New York and perhaps the nation with a dominant performance on Saturday. The sophomore from Saratoga Springs broke Jess Lawson's course record by nine seconds in 17:17.5 for 5K to win by 19 seconds. Freshman Katelyn Tuohy and senior Lawson battled for second place once they realized Chmiel wasn't coming back to them --the frontrunner dropped the field at 800m-- but Tuohy took the win by three seconds, 17:36.7 to 17:39.

#12 North Rockland girls over #2 Saratoga Springs

The No. 1 ranked Fayetteville-Manlius girls dominated as expected, scoring just 35 points to win their 11th straight state title. But behind the Hornets, No. 12 ranked North Rockland upset No. 2 Saratoga Springs, 65 to 93. The Blue Streaks are injury-ridden this year and missing several key returners from the squad that took fourth at NXN in 2015.
