Decathlon National Champion Ayden Owens Signs to USC

The reigning New Balance Nationals Outdoor decathlon champion, Ayden Owens, is taking his many talents to USC.

Owens, who scored 7,009 points en route to a dominant victory at NBNO, signed his National Letter of Intent with the Trojans on Wednesday morning.

The North Allegheny product also notched Pennsylvania state titles in the 110m and 300m hurdles in May, and owns personal records of 10.88 in the 100m, 21.82 in the 200m, and 49.06 in the 400m.

Owens placed third in the pentathlon at New Balance Nationals Indoor in March and boasts a Junior Olympic title in the 400m hurdles from 2016. He's widely regarded as the top multi-event recruit in the class of 2018 and will bolster a USC squad that finished second to Oregon at Pac-12s in May.
