From Dean Crouser: Sam opened up in the javelin yesterday (at Hood River, Or.) and threw 238'1". His series also included 229', 226, 237, and 228 on his five throw series. He also threw the discus 196'5" and 63'5" in the shot. I don't know if they keep records for this stuff, but am guessing it is the best single-day shot-disc-jav triple ever.
This was also the first time sister Haley threw the javelin this season. Her mark was 145' 8" which breaks the all-time Oregon freshman record by 8 feet.
