PORTLAND, Ore. --- Sophomore Joash Osoro and redshirt freshman Kellie Houser paced the field as the Portland Pilots took first place in both the men’s 8k and women’s 6k competitions at the 2010 Pier Park Invitational on Friday.
Men’s Recap
The men raced to first place with a team score of 26 which bested the score of 33 posted by second place Willamette University.
Osoro was joined by graduate student Craig Hopkins in the top three runners. Sophomores Charlie McDonald and David Garcia were joined by redshirt senior Scott Olberding to round out the top ten for the Pilots.
“Impressive run by Osoro; he finished with a time about 50 seconds better than his run at the 2009 Pier Park Invitational,” said Conner. “I am happy with how our redshirt freshman performed as we had several guys set new personal bests in this race. This was also a great opportunity for Craig Hopkins to get out there and compete, he will be a contributor this year.”
