Women’s Cross Country
The University of Portland women’s cross country varsity team is coming off a 20th place showing in the “Blue Meet” at the NCAA Pre-National meet on October 16th. Redshirt Senior Dana Morgan led the Pilots with her run of 21:35 which was good for 87th place overall. Redshirt Sophomore Marit Tegelaar finished in a time of 21:38.9 which was good for 94th.

In 2009 Portland captured first place honors at the Beaver Classic behind a 2nd place individual finish by Theresa Hailey (21:46), a Junior at the time.
Head Coach Ian Solof expects the Pilots to challenge for a repeat victory. “This is a great meet for our non-varsity. It is a flat, fast 6k course that utilizes a 2k loop, so it is ideal for spectators,” said Solof. “I expect the team we run to be up at the front and challenge for the win.”
Both programs are gearing up for the WCC Championship meet which takes place on October 30 in Belmont, California.
