NEW ORLEANS, La. --- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced All-Region award recipients on Monday, November 15. University of Portland sophomores Trevor Dunbar and Lars Erik Malde each earned the award as a result of their top 25 finishes at the NCAA West Regional last Saturday in Springfield.
Dunbar won the individual championship at the West Regional with his 29:57.89 first place run. Malde came in 12th in 30:19.41.
The USTFCCCA recognized nearly 450 athletes that earned All-Region awards for cross country in Division I following the NCAA Regional Championships. Athletes of member schools that finished in the top 25 individually at one of the nine regional sites earned the honor.
The Pilots return to action at the NCAA Division I Championship on November 22, at the LaVern Gibson Championship course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind. The men’s race will begin at approximately 12:48 p.m. that day.
