Every winter before finals, we have a team Christmas Party to celebrate the end of the year. This year we had New Seasons cater and the food was delicious. However, the cross-country banquet would not be complete without our traditional white elephant gift exchange. Let me explain a “white elephant” on our team: some unknowing freshmen spend money and put in nice gifts that are practical, some fifth year seniors actually get creative with their gift, some go shopping under their bed for random things they don’t want anymore, and others….well….”find” things in Forest Park….. ;)
The highlights this year were:
· Theresa’s UGLY black running shoes (dirty and smelly)
· A sparkly purple pride Christmas tree (made by Dana Mo)
· McDonald’s gift card (to tease Ian)
· A treasure from the forest ;)
· A “grow a boy-friend”
· A full shoe box of fancy scissors
· A singing and walking toy (that baby Seb REALLY liked)
· A stuffed Christmas toy goose from Grandma’s house
Also, Dana Morgan was awarded team MVP (or MVR). And Bethany was voted most inspirational. Below is a picture of our seniors eating their gift from the team….a special doughnut from Voo Doo (Portland’s famous doughnut shop).
These are some of the girls watching the game (below):
