Several Oregon high school track and field athletes posted personal records during competition the week of April 13.
Ryan Newell (Sheldon, Eugene) threw 163-9 in the discus at Grants Pass @ Sheldon on April 15, improving from his previous best of 141-10. The mark ranks #8 in Oregon and earned first place among 36 competitors.
Sophia Babian (Jewell, Seaside) ran 5:14.24 in the 1500 meters at Westview @ Jesuit on April 15, dropping her previous personal record from 5:26.32 set in April 2026. Babian finished sixth of 18 runners and ranks #140 in the state.
Molly Koegler (Crescent Valley, Corvallis) clocked 12.97 in the 100 meters at MWC Crescent Valley, South Albany @ Silverton on April 15, improving from 13.43. She won the event among 35 competitors and ranks #79 in Oregon.
Sophomore Ashton Blumenschein (Caldera) ran 11.38 in the 100 meters at Caldera and CC @ Ridgeview HS on April 15, bettering his previous mark of 11.93 from March 2026. The time ranks #109 in the state and #8 among sophomores, and he also set a personal record in the 200 meters with 24.61, down from 25.26.
Freshman Thabo Dube (Catlin Gable, Portland) posted 11.35 in the 100 meters at the OES HS Invite on April 16, improving from 11.80. He placed second of 28 runners and ranks #99 statewide and #5 among freshmen, and also ran a personal best 24.46 in the 200 meters, down from 24.70.
Sophomore Andy Bryant (Oregon Episcopal, Portland) ran 10:35.51 in the 3000 meters at the OES HS Invite on April 16, improving from 10:50.05 set in March 2026. Bryant won the race among five competitors and ranks #11 in Oregon.
Freshman Lute Falepapalangi (Gresham) ran 12.86 in the 100 meters at Gresham, Nelson @ Sandy on April 17, bettering her previous best of 13.09 from March 2026. She won among 47 competitors and ranks #57 in the state and #6 among freshmen, and also set a personal record in the 200 meters with 27.13, down from 29.64.
