SEATTLE, Wash. --- The University of Portland men’s and women’s track and field teams had a good first outing of the season at the University of Washington Indoor Preview on Saturday in Seattle. Freshman David Perry legged out a 7th place finish in the 3000m in a time of 8:33.03 on the men’s side while sophomore Hailey Knettles notched an 8th place, in 5:05.51, finish in the mile for the women.
Other top ten Pilot finishes for the women included Natasha Verma (9th, 10:18.86) and Paige Patillo (10th, 10:20.50) in the 3000m. The men’s side had solid runs from Scott Fauble (14th, 4:17.26) in the mile and David Williams (13th, 1:57.72) in the 800m.
The next race for both squads will come on Jan. 28-29 as they travel back to Seattle for the UW Invitational at the Dempsey Indoor arena.
