Boys 1 Mile
Could we see high school boys 32 and 33 break the 4-minute barrier? We'll have to wait until this Friday, when Caden Leonard and Jackson Spencer line up at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays for an epic battle. Leonard is coming off an impressive 4:01.02 at the Texas Distance Festival last month, while Spencer most recently clocked 8:31, the fastest 3200m in high school history.
This race also showcases the best of Oregon in one place. Seven of Oregon's fastest 1500m runners will line up, led by Yosuke Shibata of South Eugene. Earlier this month, Shibata finished as the top Oregonian in the Oregon Relays 1 Mile with a season's best of 4:09, making him the best in the state. He will try to do the same this weekend, but the likes of Clayton Jero, Ronan Gantzos, and Bjorn Blakenship will be looking to redeem themselves.
Kellen Williams and Ty Cirino are key Oregonians to watch who didn't race the 1 mile at the Oregon Relays. Williams most recently ran 8:53 for the 3200m at the Arcadia Invitational, which may give him an advantage in this epic showdown for state supremacy.

Girls 1 Mile
This event will center on Ellery Lincoln, who will run her first outdoor 1 Mile since setting a 4:35.55 Oregon state record. Since then, she's run 2:05 in the 800m and an impressive 9:05 in the 3000m. On Friday, Lincoln will look to repeat as the Nike/Jesuit Twilight champion and challenge the meet record she set last season, 4:39.
She will face tough competition from the Latta Sisters, Iris, Remy, and Reese, who are from Texas and coming off strong performances at the Carolina Distance Carnival. Sophia Rodriguez will also compete for this victory after finishing 3rd last year with a personal record of 4:46.

Girls 100m
Aster Jones, one of Oregon's greatest sprinters, will aim to secure her third consecutive 100m title at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays. The senior is coming off two personal records at the Arcadia Invitational in the 100m and 200m, where she finished as the runner-up in both events.
Pharalynn Dickson and Charis Rettmann may give her the biggest challenge as the only other two runners to go under 12 seconds this season. Last week, Dickson ran an impressive personal record of 23.62 in the 200m, making things even more interesting as she lines up for her next 100m.

Boys 3200m
The boys' 3200m will be a border war among the best distance runners from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.
Oregon holds the home-track advantage with Malachi Schoenherr, who ran 8:43 in the 3200m at the Arcadia Invitational. Oliver Zimmerman leads Washington, running 8:53 at the Arciadia Invitational, which is good for WA #3. Idaho has sophomore Rowan Henry, who ran 9:01 at the Oregon Relays. In the midst of the border wars, Eli Jarvis could upset the apple cart by running 9:02 at the Arcadia Invitational.
