SALEM, Ore. --- Matt Frerker finished in second place while Joash Osoro (5th), Charlie McDonald (6th), and Cody Wells (7th) also placed in the top 10 to lead the Pilots to a tie for first place at the 37th Annual Charles Bowles Invitational Saturday. Portland finished with 37 team points, tying Chico State for the best team total in the 8k men’s race.
Frerker posted a time of 24:18 for the Pilots, followed closely by Osaro’s 24:25, McDonald’s 24:27, and Wells’ 24:31. Chico State, which captured the women’s title, also had four runners finish in the top 10 while the top runner on the day was Barak Watson out of Northwest Nazarene, finishing with a time of 24:03.
