Hasay places 2nd in NCAA

With three hundred meters to go in the race Oregon’s Jordan Hasay threw down the gauntlet, as she committed to a sprint to the finish.   She opened a slight gap over defending champion Sheila Reid, who responded to a kick of her own.   Sprinting together for forty meters it appeared to be anyone’s race but Reid claimed another title:  this time by six-tenths of a second.  Abbey  D’ Agostino of Dartmouth finished third, while Washington’s Katie Flood placed seventh as an individual.   Emily Infeld of Georgetown earned fourth place, which was a key for the Hoyas.

Georgetown was a surprise winner in the women’s race with a low of 162 points.   Their solid pack of seven runners was the difference and it included Annamarie Maag, a former Jesuit star.   Washington placed second in the team race with 170 points and defending champion took third with 181.   Favorite Florida State, which included Crater's Kayleagh Tyerman,  earned fourth with 189 points & the Oregon women claimed fifth with 287.
