The quad meet in Beaverton (Sunset) produced some interesting results and tight competition in the girls’ team race. When the scores were totaled Jesuit had defeated the Sunset gals by a 31 to 36 margin with Aloha a distant 73. Charlotte Corless (18:10) & Nicole Griffiths (18:18) of Sunset went 1 – 2 in the individual race and were followed by the Crusaders’ Dylan Hite (18:31) & Elle Kallgren, who ran 18:54. Tess Michaelson of Lincoln earned fifth with 18:50 and the Sunset’s Sarah Fahmy took sixth with 18:57. Crucial placements were then scored by Jesuit, when Taylor Moscoe (19:03), Nicole McCullough (19:16) & Lindsay Scheaffer swept positions 7 thru 9. Aloha runners Amanda Stowe (19:19) & Desyre Blackburn (19:34) followed in 10th & 11th respectively but by then the Crusader had cemented the victory.
Tanner Smith of Lincoln triumphed among the guys with his 16:05 but then the Jesuit boys began their domination by annexing the next four places. Matt Piercy (16:12) led the way followed by Matt McGuirk a second later. Sam Remington placed 4th in 16:19 – a second ahead of Michael Godbout. David Seller’s sixth place finish in 16:22 got Aloha on the board but then the Crusaders’ Alex Joseph (16:29), Brian McDavitt & Josh Sealand cemented the victory by sweeping positions seven through nine. Those two Crusaders were credited with 16:30. Mark Sussman of Sunset rounded out the top ten with his mark of 16:44, which brought him home two seconds before Connor McWeeney of Sunset and underscored the Crusader power.
