NC Athletes Head to Boston Ben Hovis Mar 08, 2009

Once again this year, North Carolina's finest will travel to the Nike Indoor National meet. The only change is venue - instead of heading to Landover, MD, now they are off to Boston, MA.

Wayne Davis II the SE Raleigh broke the 55mH National Record at the 4A State Indoor Meet and will hope to do the same over the 60m hurdles in Boston.

New Bern is currently ranked #1 in the in the nation in the 4x200, 4x400, and SMR. They are focused on the relays and want nothing less than National Records and wins. They already broke the National Record in the 4x400 this year, so look out.

Indoor Rankings vs. Winter Rankings Ben Hovis Dec 16, 2008

Here in North Carolina, "polar bear" meets or outdoor meets held during the winter, are very important. The NCHSAA allows qualifying times to come from these meets since NC's indoor track facilities are slim (almost none).

Broughton, Spano, & Soo Move On to Nationals Ben Hovis Nov 29, 2008

It was a nasty day in Charlotte for the 30th Foot Locker South Region races, but a beautiful day for the ladies from North Carolina. 2002 was the last year a girl qualified for Nationals, but today two of them did. Kimberly Spano of North Meck finished in 8th place running 17:36 and Adrianne Soo of Durham Academy ran 17:39 for 10th.

Huge thanks to the record number of coaches who voted during the past few days! There are some really tight races throughout all the classifications, with teams flip-flopping with one another right to the last voter. The #1 spot in a few classifications wasn't determined until the end.

BIG NEWS: NCRunners Changing Hands Ben Hovis Jun 05, 2008

I have truly enjoyed running NCRunners.com for the last 22 months. The site has taken off and it has been amazing getting to know so many athletes, coaches, meet directors, parents, and more. I am not completely disappearing, as I will still be helping out with various aspects of the site, mostly behind the scenes.

Who's taking over?
