Ole Miss senior distance runner Barnabas Kirui qualified for the finals of the 3,000 meter steeplechase after posting a time of 8:43.66 Wednesday on the first day of the NCAA Championships from Hayward Field.

Day One of the NCAA Championships Jun 09, 2010

The first day of the NCAA Track and Field Championships came to a close and the Houston women's 4x100 relay team qualified for the finals in the event by recording a new Houston record. The competition was slowed by low temperatures and sporadic rain throughout the afternoon. The competition will continue tomorrow at 5 p.m. and last through Saturday.

Beckwith, Turner Advance to Finals at NCAAs Jun 09, 2010

Molly Beckwith and De'Sean Turner each advanced through semifinal action on the first day of competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Beckwith won her heat of the 800m with the second-fastest qualifying time and Turner took second in his heat for advancement in the 3,000m steeplechase.

Beth Rohl Places Fifth in Discus During Opening Day of NCAAs Jun 10, 2010

The Michigan State track & field team opened action today (June 9) at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. Completing action in the first day of competition was senior Kyron Foster (triple jump), sophomore Becca Buchholtz (high jump) and freshmen Keenan Michael (400m hurdles) and Beth Rohl (discus). The Spartan women currently are 13th with four team points.

EUGENE, Ore. - With only a handful of finals being contested during Wednesday's action at the 2010 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, LSU junior Zedric Thomas made the most of his opportunity by earning All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the triple jump with a wind-legal outdoor personal record of 52 feet, 10 ¾ inches.
