Amy-Eloise Neale ran 10:12.33 for Glacier Peak as she claimed the 3A division 3A championship. Not only did Neale go under the division record but Katie Knight of North Central (10:15) & Kendra Weitz of Shadle (10:20) also broke the former record. Erin Hegarty of Hanford ran alone for the bulk of the race and finished fourth with 11:09 on a breezy day. Anthony Armstong of Kamiakin ran the best time of the day for all the guys when he won the 3A crown with 8:57.36. Nathan Weitz, also a junior, placed second for Shadle Park with 9:02, as he edged Jeff Bastina of Glacier Peak. Vince Hamilton, a senior from North Central, finished fourth with 9;04.
Kenji Bierig of Lewis & Clark annexed the boys' 4A title with 9:01, while Nate Brennand of Olympia came in second (9:02). Merin Smith of Federal ran 9:03 to place third three seconds in front of Jacob Smith of Wenathchee & sophomore Andrew Gardner of Mead earned fifth ahead of Korey Krotzer of Auburn Riverside. For the girls it was Tansy Lystad of Inglemmor, who triumphed. Her time of 10:28 saw her finish well ahead of freshaman Jordan McPhee, who ran 10:52. Richland runners Maggie Jones & Katie Mahoney garnered third & fourth, while Chandler Olson of Woodinville came home fifth.
Dylan Croeni of Washougal claimed the title that eluded him in Cross Country by finishing in a time 9:23.62. Pat Gibson of Squalicum ran 9:25 to take second ahead of Dakota Parker of W F West, who ran 9:26. Nich Schippers of Kingston took fourth. For the girls' Sanne Holland of Cheney topped Marina Roberts of Kingston, who had battled most of the way before bowing 10:50.12 to 10:57.17. Nikita Waghan of Interlaken placed third.
Christine Kirkwood of Othello, who will compete for the Air Force Academy finished her career with a victory in the Javelin with a State record of 167-09. Jamie Weisner of Clarkston placed second in 2A with 147-08. Courtney Fairhart of Eatonville was third with 138-11. Olivia Vincent of Holy Names triumphed in the 3A High Jump by going 5-07, which edged the 5-06.00 of Sasha Weber of Timberlake. Cecelia Jackson, also from Holy Names, earned third with fewer misses than Britanny Grandy of Sedro-Wooley, who also cleared 4-02.00. John Wishard of Kelso triumphed in the 3A Pole Vault, when he cleared 5-07 to best Tyler Wilson's 1406. The Shadle Park vault specialisit placed second ahead of Hazen's Kyle Martin & Patrick Henry's Lev Marcus, who both went to a jump of after making 14-00.
